End Of The Line

I recently received a call asking me to look at a laptop that was unable to boot up and agreed to take a look at it (freely) if they brought it over to me to which they agreed to do. A while later I received another call (voicemail) saying they’d decided to let a friend take a look at it rather than bring it to me. Now I’m a very helpful and understanding person but that to me is a terrible thing to do! So a “friend” who thinks they know what they’re doing is now going to do what they think is the right thing and if it doesn’t work they’re going to call me to probably uundo that as well the original problem.

This has to stop happening or I’ll have to up the prices or charge an initial fee for diagnosis. Its not fair being the “end of the line” as people try to save their pennies by getting friends who “know a bit” to have a look first. If this person calls back asking me to diagnose the laptop I’m going to ask £20 up front and will write a receipt for it so they can use it to their advantage.

My services are second to none, please don’t abuse them!
